Tristan Goodall, respected Adelaide musician and founding member of popular band The Audreys, has died aged 48.
Goodall, who along with singer Taasha Coates formed the core of the triple ARIA Award-winning act, had been suffering from ill health for the past two years.
Coates, on social media, said the outpouring of love from those who knew Goodall had been overwhelming.
“He touched so many of us with his beautiful music, his big heart, his big hugs and his big goofy laugh,” she said of the musician she met as a university student and aspiring singer in 1997.
“Tristan saw something in me, and as we started playing and writing songs together a whole new world opened up. We went on to do so many wonderful things together with our music. We met and worked with amazing and talented people, we walked on to stages big and small together all over the world. It has been the most incredible adventure.”
The Audreys have released four studio albums and won ARIAs for Best Blues and Roots Album in 2006, 2008 and 2011.
