Adelaide's SA Christmas Lights Roadtrip (7 News)

Adelaide, it’s time to start decking your halls and show off your Christmas light displays.

The Advertiser is calling festive South Aussie to submit their spectacular displays so they can be added to our 2023 interactive Christmas Lights map.

All you have to do is scroll down, fill out the form below and the Advertiser’s resident elves will add to the map for your Christmas light viewing.

Blackwood local and Christmas fanatic Luke Denton believes his lights display among the first of its kind in outside of the North Pole.

A software engineer by day, Mr Denton has put his skills to the test and created a fully customisable lights display which visitors can control via their phones.

“I didn’t want the whole house to be doing the same thing,” Mr Denton, 36, said.

“And then it grew to ‘how cool it would be if other people could control this?’ and that would allow for a unique show every night that is not planned, just completely unique.”

By working some Christmas magic on store-bought lights and applying his tech skill set, Mr Denton’s Gulfview Rd home lights up at the touch of a button.

Visitors can use their phone, follow the prompts on his Luke Lights website, can change the colour of the lights by choosing settings like party, crazy and different colours.

Mr Denton has been decorating his home with his customisable light display for five years and isn’t showing signs of stopping.

Eventually, he wants to set up a live stream so kids in hospital, who wouldn’t otherwise be able to see them in person, can take control of the lights.

Luke Lights will officially turn on December 1 from 8pm to 10.30pm and will run till Christmas.
