Amateur and professional photographers are vying for the title of South Australia’s Heritage Photographer of 2020, and have so far submitted a stunning series of snaps.

The Department for Environment and Water competition is open until October 30, as part of a campaign to promote the state’s heritage-listed places.

SA Heritage Council chairman Keith Conlon, pictured, says there are prizes up for grabs.

“Through this competition, we want to help showcase our 2300 wonderful state heritage-listed places and 17 state heritage areas,” he says.

“Just by entering the competition, you will be helping to promote and celebrate our state’s heritage.

“It’s also a great opportunity for people to learn why these heritage places are significant, and so the education potential is enormous.”

Mr Conlon says while this is a great community activity during COVID-19 restrictions, people are urged to practice good social-distancing while striving to get that great photo.
