The owner of a northern suburbs restaurant torched by arsonists overnight has offered a $5000 reward to help catch the alleged culprits.
Two hooded men were captured on CCTV lighting the blaze inside family-run Al Sultan Restaurant and Shisha Lounge on Main North Road at Enfield at about 3.30am on Saturday.
The MFS and police were called to the scene and crews extinguished the blaze within 30 minutes.
The fire was largely limited to the restaurant’s kitchen but there was significant smoke damage to the rest of the building, with the overall damage estimated at around $200,000.
Owner Daniel Ali said the venue has been targeted twice in recent months. A glass door was smashed a fortnight ago, while thieves broke into the business back in May.
“I cannot describe the sadness, it’s really sad,” Mr Ali told 7News.
“It’s a good business. It’s making money, it’s always busy.”
Mr Ali is offering a $5000 reward to anyone who can help catch the arsonists.
“If anyone comes and 100 per cent knows who’s done it, I will pay $5000,” he told 7News.
Police Fire Cause investigators attended the scene.
