Stormy's brothel up for sale

THE former home of Adelaide's most well-known madam, Stormy Summers, is for sale.

THE former home of Adelaide's most well-known madam, Stormy Summers, is for sale.

The building, which housed Ms Summers' city brothel, is to be sold by public auction.

The property, located at 155 Waymouth St, Adelaide, is being sold through Jones Lang LaSalle.

Agent Gregor Zorkovic said the site already was receiving significant interest because of its prime location near the hub of the city.

"The property occupies a valuable position on the southern side of Light Square, one property east of the intersection of Waymouth and Morphett streets," he said.

"It is close to the Balfours site, the new Central Bus Station being constructed in Franklin St and UniSA City West, TAFE campuses, Hindley St and more.

"It really is a terrific location."

The five-storey building, which includes a two-level penthouse, two further apartments, a level of potential office space and a bar on the ground level, is being advertised for about $2 million.

Ms Summers was evicted last August after she became embroiled in legal action with former business partner and building owner, Pauline Mary Springhall.

Cleaners were brought in the middle of last month to prepare the building for sale.

Mr Zorkovic said it had great development potential.

The complex was almost entirely gutted during the clean-up.

"The first floor could easily be converted into offices or student accommodation," Mr Zorkovic said.

"Zhivago's, on the ground floor, has a long-term lease and the views to the north from the upper levels and from the roof-top are spectacular."

The building will be auctioned on May 3.
