THE State Liberals have released a new series of TV commercials portraying leader Steven Marshall in a casual lunch setting.
In an obvious attempt to boost his popularity ahead of the 2018 state election, the ads highlight Mr Marshall’s background in business and promote him as a father of two who is determined to return the state to its former glory.
“We’ve been a leader in the past and we can be a leader again. We need to scrape off the rust so we can shine again,” he said.
Mr Marshall places an emphasis on protecting vulnerable children in the state’s child protection system and providing energy security — priorities reflected in yesterday’s shadow cabinet reshuffle.
The last Advertiser-Galaxy poll in September had Mr Marshall and Premier Jay Weatherill both at 31 per cent as preferred premier, with 38 per cent uncommitted.
