THE picturesque lake in Rymill Park now has some serious competition — this new “artificial lake” in the North Adelaide parklands was created this morning after a water main erupted.
SA Water was called to the major leak at around 6.30am this morning on the corner of Robe Tce and Main North Rd.
An SA Water spokesperson said a nearby dog park was not affected and they were advising people to avoid the area until repairs had been made.
“Our repair crew is on site and working to pump the water out of the area to ensure the safety of the community,” they said.
“We first attended the site at approximately 7.00am and the next available technician arrived at approximately 8.20am and the water was turned off at 9.25am.”
The amount of water wasted is not yet known but SA water said they would have more information once the ground had “dried up” so they could determine the damage.
SA Water said the water would remain turned off and no residential customers in the area would be without water during repairs.
