Six people were arrested in a stolen car after allegedly leading police on a dangerous pursuit through Adelaide’s south.
Police spotted the stolen Ford sedan on King William Rd in Adelaide just after midnight Tuesday and tried to stop the driver, who allegedly sped off.
Patrols pursued the car through the CBD but terminated the chase for safety reasons.
The car was spotted a short time later in the Goodwood area, and tracked it as it drove south on the Southern Expressway.
The Ford stopped briefly south of the Seacombe Rd bridge and police quickly arrested all six occupants without incident.
The driver, a man of no fixed address, 31, was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicensed and drink driving after he allegedly blew 0.138, nearly three times the legal limit.
The remaining five passengers including a Northern Territory man, 40, a Walkerville man, 27, a Port Augusta man, 32, and a Coober Pedy man, 21, were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle.
A Seaton woman, 29, was issued an adult caution.
The suspects will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Courts on various dates, including the driver who is expected to attend on Tuesday morning.
