Six campers have been rushed to hospital after ingesting a stash of cookies believed to be laced with cannabis in the state’s South East.

Six campers had to be rushed to hospital after ingesting a stash of cookies laced with cannabis at Nora Creina, near Robe in the state’s South East.

Emergency services were called to Long Gully Rd, Nora Creina, near the Long Gully Campgrounds, from 7.45pm on Thursday after reports of overdoses.

It is believed the campers, aged in their early 20s, had overdosed on cannabis-laced cookies, after experiencing side effects including hallucinations, disorientation, numbness and vomiting.

One member of the group had reportedly become unresponsive.

An SA Health spokesperson said five campers were treated ay Millicent and District Hospital and Health Service, while the other recieved treatment at the Kingston Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.

They have since been discharged from hospital.
