Serious single-vehicle crash at Bute in SA’s north west

Emergency services have been called to a serious single-vehicle crash on SA’s northern Yorke Peninsula, where it is believed a car has slammed into a tree.

There has been a serious crash at Bute on the northern Yorke Peninsula in the state’s north west.

Emergency services were called to Upper Yorke Rd, near Moyses Rd, just after 1pm on Tuesday.

The Advertiser understands a car has slammed into a tree.

A medstar helicopter is on way to the scene.

Upper Yorke Rd, between Trengove Rd and Moyses Rd, is closed to all traffic.

Police urge motorists to avoid the area.

This comes two days after 16-year-old Johnny Howieson lost his life when his car collided with a tree on Lake Plains Rd at Lake Plains.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at about 2.35am but were unable to save the teen who died at the scene.
