A 74-year-old Lewiston man who died after his car hit a tree at Moppa earlier this month has been removed from the tally of lives lost on SA’s roads after an investigation into his cause of death.

The man, who was the driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi station wagon, was determined to have died from medical issues in the November 14 crash at the intersection of Moppa Rd and Golf Course Rd, about 85km from Adelaide.

As a result, his death will not be counted in the official police tally of lives lost on SA roads this year.

The current number of fatalities has been revised down to 104, compared to 63 at the same time last year.
