Woman, 79, dies after car and truck collide on Augusta Highway near Snowtown
A 79-year-old woman has died after her car collided with a road train, closing down the Augusta Highway. The truck ended up hundreds of metres from the road.

A woman has died after her car collided with a truck on the Augusta Highway near Snowtown.
The AB-triple road train ended up in a paddock beside the highway, jackknifed quite some distance from the crash site.
Emergency services were called to the crash scene just after 12.30pm on Thursday after reports the truck and a Mitsubishi sedan had crashed. The 79-year-old local woman died at the scene.
The truck driver, 49-year-old man from Munno Para West, received minor injuries and was taken to Snowtown Hospital.
The car was significantly damaged on its front and driver’s side.
The Augusta Highway was closed to traffic in both directions between Snowtown and Lochiel for several hours but has since reopened.
Police said the road closures are expected to remain in place for several hours and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
