A man has died after he was hit by a truck while riding his bike at Salisbury South early this morning.

A man has died after he was hit by a truck while riding a bike at Salisbury South on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on Kings Rd about 5.30am.

The cyclist, a Salisbury Downs man, 51, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a Wallaroo man, 60, was not injured.

Kings Rd is closed between Horrie Miller Ave and Main North Rd while emergency crews including the State Emergency Service are at the scene.

Major Crash investigators are in attendance.

The state’s road toll is now at 28 lives lost this year, compared with 40 at the same time in 2021.
