The victim of a horrific smash between a 4WD and a truck at Willunga Hill on Wednesday night has been identified as a 36-year-old Semaphore Park father.

Dylan Ramsden was killed when his Toyota 4WD crashed head on into a semi-trailer on Victor Harbor Rd about 10pm on Wednesday night.

7News reported Mr Ramsden had a teenage daughter and worked as a scaffolder.

He was the only occupant in the 4WD.

They were taken to Flinders Medical Centre and kept under observation.

The man’s death is the 90th life lost on our state’s roads, compared to 57 at the same time last year.

Victor Harbor Rd was closed for several hours to all traffic between Pages Flat Rd and Yundi Rd.

This comes after a 23-year-old man from Sellicks Beach died on Wednesday, after he was hit by a truck on the Southern Expressway at Bedford Park. The truck driver, a 40-year-old northern suburbs man was not physically injured in the crash that happened about 12.15pm.
