SA’s Prancing Pony Brewery, Barossa Valley Brewing and Route 9 Distillery unite to create limited edition ‘Puck Futin’ beer

South Australian beer lovers have united behind a cheeky new ale designed to help families and refugees from war-torn Ukraine.

The limited edition “Puck Futin” beer, crafted by Prancing Pony Brewery, Barossa Valley Brewing and Route 9 Distillery, is based on a recipe from a Ukrainian-based brewery.

This week it took less than 36 hours to pre-sell the entire batch of 10,000L, with all proceeds going towards charities providing humanitarian and medical support in Ukraine, and aiding Ukrainian refugees arriving in Australia.

Corinna Steeb, co-founder of Prancing Pony, said the support from the beer-loving public had been “overwhelming”.

“It has been one of the most humbling experiences for all of us to be contacted so many Ukrainians to thank us for the support that this will provide,” she said.

“You don’t realise it has been for the families with loved ones in Ukraine, and for Australians to watch the devastation in that country. It’s absolutely devastating what’s happening over there.”

The beer, which is still being brewed, will be shipped out on April 25, with limited kegs available at Prancing Pony and Barossa Valley Brewing venues from around Easter.
