A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to burn staff at a service station with a butane torch at Peterborough.
Police responded to reports a man was armed with the butane torch while attempting to steal goods from the store about 10.30am Sunday.
It will be alleged the man produced “a large butane burner” and threatened staff who confronted him while inside the store.
Police said the man burned items with the torch before police arrived on scene and arrested him without incident.

He was charged with common assault, threaten to damage property, disorderly behaviour and possess a prescription drug.
He was bailed to appear in the Peterborough Magistrates Court on December 4.
Police noted there were a number of people in the store at the time that left the scene before they could be spoken to and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers online at crimestopperssa.com.au or free call 1800 333 000.
