Sabrina Lekaj’s family pay tribute to student, 20, allegedly murdered by her father
An Adelaide student allegedly murdered by her father has been remembered as a cherished sister, as her family pay an emotional tribute.

The family of an Adelaide student allegedly murdered by her father have paid tribute to the “precious” woman.
The body of Sabrina Lekaj, 20, was found in her luxury car next to her seriously injured father, Petrit, 49, in Kidman Park almost a fortnight ago.
A desperate 90-minute police search ended with the discovery inside her 2002 white Mercedes-Benz sedan her father had recently given her.
They were 250m from their Kidman Ave home. The western suburbs property developer, a well-known Albanian community member, is charged with her murder.
In a death notice published in The Advertiser at the weekend, her family paid tribute to the medical imaging student and gifted pianist, who they described as “20 years young”.
They wrote how she was the “precious” daughter of both her parents, a “cherished” sister of her younger brother and “dearly loved” by other Albanian-based relatives. “Goodbyes are not forever,” they wrote.
“Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean ‘we’ll miss you, until we meet again’.”
Their public tribute came after her many friends also remembered a gifted, vivacious student who had just celebrated passing her exams.
Western Districts detectives are investigating what sparked her murder. No details have been aired in court.
The father last month faced a bedside hearing at the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court.
He is recovering in the Royal Adelaide Hospital after emergency surgery for a serious stab-related abdominal injury. He has been remanded in custody until January.
