Adelaide is tipped for a warmer Wednesday before rain returns later that night with wet weather forecast to stay for the rest of the week.
Adelaide is set for a top of 20C before showers develop later on Wednesday and bring the temperatures back down to the mid teens.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a very high chance of rain on Wednesday evening with strong northerly winds up to 40 km/h.
The city is tipped for up to 5mm of rain on Wednesday night, while the Mount Lofty Ranges area is bracing for up to 10mm, with similar rainfall tipped for Thursday and Friday.
With the rain comes lower maximum temperatures with 16C and 17C tipped for Thursday and Friday before a chilly weekend with an expected max of just 14C for Saturday and Sunday.
