Motorcyclist David Boxer, 27, killed in Salisbury Heights crash

David Boxer has been remembered by loved ones after a fatal crash in Adelaide’s north – just hours after another cyclist was fatally struck by a train.

Family and friends of fatal crash victim David Boxer have flocked to social media to leave tributes following a horrific crash in Adelaide’s north.

The 27-year-old was tragically killed after his motorcycle collided with a car at Main North Rd, Salisbury Heights, just before 10.30pm on Tuesday.

He died at the scene while the driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

Fitzroy Stars Football & Netball Club tribute post on Facebook to remember Mr Boxer and share their condolences to his loved ones.

“Arriving in 2021, David quickly made himself known. Wowing club and opposition supporters with his speed, skill and flair. He provided much excitement during a challenging season,” it said.

“His impact at the club will forever live within the fabric of our jumper. On behalf of us all at the Fitzroy Stars, we again express our condolences to David’s loved ones. Farewell our brother.”

Sister-in-law Elisemaria Boxer Galieri, also posted a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook to remember her “baby brother.”

“We (will) always love u (you) bro always, I promise you’ll never be forgotten and (I’ll) always remember the amazing memories we created together,” Ms Galieri said.

“Love u David with all my heart, love Eddie and Dwayne ur so special to us David.”

Another loved one, Damien Boxer, remembered his “little cuzzy” as “such a young talent with so much to give.”

“I’m gonna (going to) miss the fishing trips, playing footy together and having a few drinks listening to beats,” he said.

“I love you mate and will miss syou until we meet again at the pearly gates.”

The intersection of Main North Rd, Saints Rd and The Grove Way was closed while Major Crash investigated the collision but has since reopened.

The man’s death is the 44th on South Australian roads compared with 21 the same time last year.

It follows the death of a cyclist on Tuesday afternoon, who was hit and killed by a train at a pedestrian crossing at Ascot Park.

Emergency services were called to a crossing on Sixth Ave and Railway Terrace at about 3pm.

The 41-year-old cyclist from Adelaide died at the scene.
