A three car crash, allegedly involving a drug driver, caused peak hour traffic chaos on Brighton Rd on Tuesday.
Police said just before 4pm on Tuesday, officers attempted to pull over a white Holden Captiva.
But the driver failed to stop and crashed into a taxi and a Kia Sportage SUV.
Police said the driver of the Captiva, a 58-year-old Dover Gardens woman, was expected to be charged with a number of traffic offences, including driving disqualified.
She was also drug tested at the scene and allegedly returned a positive reading for methamphetamines, which will be sent to Forensic Science for further analysis.
The woman is set to face the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today, after being refused police bail.
There were extensive delays due to the crash with north bound traffic blocked, south bound down to one lane and east bound open on Sturt Rd.
The driver of the taxi, a 34-year-old Marion man, was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the driver of the Kia, a 52-year-old Hillbank woman, was uninjured.
