SA Police: What to do at a crash scene

A 36-year-old woman allegedly driving a stolen vehicle sent police on a chase through the northern suburbs on Saturday night.

Police spotted a black Toyota Corolla sedan driving with its lights off along Hamblynn Road at Elizabeth Downs just before 11.30pm on Saturday.

Patrols ran a check and found the car had been stolen from an Elizabeth Downs address earlier this month.

After following the car for a short period, police spiked its tyres on Main North Road.

But that didn’t stop the woman.

She continued driving at speed on Main North Road and ran a red light.

When she finally stopped at Target Hill Road, police arrested her.

The woman was charged with driving dangerously to escape a police pursuit, driving while being disqualified and illegal use of a motor vehicle.

She did not apply for bail and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.

Pennington woman caught allegedly driving on meth

A Pennington woman was allegedly caught driving with meth in her system at Ceduna on Saturday.

SA Police patrols stopped a black Lexus station wagon on Thevenard Road at Ceduna for a mobile driver test just after 8.30pm on Saturday.

When its 42-year-old driver took the roadside drug screening test, she allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

The woman will be charged with drug driving and has been issued a three-month immediate loss of licence.

This will start after her sample has been analysed by Forensic Science SA.
