They are the documents that have brought down three government ministers, the President of the Upper House and the government whip - claim forms for a controversial accommodation allowance for country MPs — and today The Advertiser is publishing them in full.
The documents — more than 1600 pages of claim forms detailing over 6000 lines of data - was tabled in parliament over a week ago, in the wake of questions about the living arrangements of the then-President of the Upper House, Terry Stephens.
Those questions have led to an inquiry to the allowance by ICAC and the resignations of Mr Stephens, former Transport Minister Stephan Knoll and former Primary Industries Minister Tim Whetstone, who both paid back thousands of dollars.
Government whip Adrian Pederick also resigned this week after his claims revealed some inconsistencies - some of which Mr Pederick acknowledged himself.
Former Trade Minister David Ridgway resigned after it was revealed he signed blank time sheets for his former driver.
After digitising and analysing the data, The Advertiser is making the entire trove of documents available to search and explore.
The database is part of The Advertiser’s ongoing campaign, Your Right To Know.
“We are constantly working on ways to make transparent issues that some would prefer remain opaque,” said The Advertiser’s Executive Editor, Digital, Rod Savage.
“By digitising these documents and building a user-friendly database for our audience to explore themselves, we are delivering on our promise to always fight for the public’s right to know.”
