Five heroic CFS volunteers who should inspire us all

Australia’s bushfire crisis is affecting an unprecedented number of people, striking at the hearts of those witnessing it at home and abroad.

News Corp will next week honour our bushfire heroes, paying tribute to firefighters and volunteers, neighbours who helped neighbours, mates who pitched in and the incredible generosity of Australians and our friends abroad.

Every firefighter (paid and volunteer) should be given a bravery award. Some have lost their life (sic) others their homes and it is protecting others … the ones who are volunteers are doing it because they want to, yet they are not getting paid, their families are struggling without money, not complaining. All of these people (men & women) are true heroes — Rosann Holt

What a wonderful idea, our firefighters are real heroes as are their families that give them so much support. All of them should have a badge that says I’m a firefighter — what's your superpower? – Vivienne Lamoureux
