Roo takes a trip down Adelaide’s main city strip

The city is becoming quieter during the coronavirus shutdown. Wildlife are returning. This kangaroo was spotted in Victoria Square just this morning.

Kangaroo bounds through Adelaide CBD

So you know how people from overseas often think Kangaroos just bounce down main city streets in Australia?

And we laugh and tell them that doesn’t really happen?

Well, it did this morning - right along King William Rd through the very heart of Adelaide’s CBD.

And CCTV captured the journey, including a close call with a car, before the grey roo made off for the parklands on the outskirts of the CBD.

The footage was shared by SA Police on social media this afternoon – in a Twitter post, SA Police joked that “Protective Security Officers tracked a suspect wearing a grey fur coat hopping through the heart of the #adelaide CBD this morning”.

“He was last seen on foot heading into the West Parklands,” they quipped, sharing the footage of the Kangaroo bouncing down King William St.
