85-year-old woman dies in crash near Furner in SA’s South-East

A woman has been killed in a crash in the South-East on Sunday, with police now investigating.

An 85-year-old woman has died after a crash near Furner, in the state’s South East.

Police said just before 2.45pm on Sunday, emergency services had been called to Conmurra Rd after a Toyota sedan rolled.

“Sadly, the driver and sole occupant, a 85-year-old Hatherleigh woman, died at the scene,’’ SAPOL said in a statement.

Conmurra Rd was closed while Major Crash investigated the “circumstances surrounding the crash’’.

Police have asked anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

The woman’s death is the 73rd life lost on SA roads this year, compared to 45 at the same time last year.
