Threat reduced: bushfire at Port Broughton

The threat of the uncontrolled bushfire at Port Broughton has been reduced, however the Country Fire Service remind people to take care in the area.
A watch and act message was issued for residents near Port Broughton after a grass fire that started in crops on a property in the state’s Mid North.
Seven Country Fire Service crews have been called to Pipeline Rd and Fletchers Rd, at Port Broughton after the fire started just after 1pm.
Water bombing aircraft have also been dispatched to help fight the blaze.
Farm firefighting units are also assisting.
The fire is now burning uncontrolled in a south-westerly direction towards Upper York Rd and Spencer Hwy.
The CFS are encouraging residents to take action now as this bushfire may threaten you safety.
“Check that the path is clear and go to a safer place,” a warning reads.
“Do not enter this area as conditions are dangerous.
“Conditions are continually changing.”
