Alleged drink driver caught in Parkside | P-plater caught for alleged drink driving ‘6 times over the limit’

An alleged drink driver seen “staggering” from her vehicle in leafy Parkside has lost her licence after she blew way over the legal limit.

A woman seen staggering from her car in affluent Parkside has been reported after she blew more than six times the legal blood-alcohol limit.

Police were called to Robsart St about 5pm Thursday when the woman was seen struggling near her Toyota SUV.

The woman drove off before police arrived but inquiries led them to her nearby address where the alleged driver was breath tested.

She produced a positive reading of 0.307, more than six times the limit of 0.05.

A Parkside woman, 46, was reported for drink driving and issued an instant loss of licence. Her car was impounded and she will face court at a later date.

It follows a similar bust on Wednesday night, where a P-plater lost his licence after allegedly blowing more than six times the legal alcohol limit at Wynn Vale.

Police tried to stop the Holden sedan on Park Lake Drive about 8.30pm Wednesday but the car took off at speed.

The vehicle wasn’t pursued, but patrols attended the registered owner’s address and found the alleged driver and car.

The driver, a P-plater, was breath tested and produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.342, nearly seven times the legal limit of 0.05.

A Wynn Vale man, 39, was reported for failing to stop, drink driving, and breaching a condition of his provisional licence.

He lost his licence for a year and his car was impounded, and the driver will face court at a later date.
