Thousands of residents in Adelaide’s east and south experienced power outages this morning, due to fallen vegetation on a powerline.
About 3000 homes in Adelaide’s east including Frewville, Fullarton, Glenside, Hyde Park, Kingswood, Malvern, Parkside and Unley were without power on Friday morning from at least 7am.
Nearly 1000 homes in Ascot Park, Edwardstown and South Plympton were also affected.
The outages were restored about 8.40am Friday.
There were reports multiple traffic lights were impacted by the blackouts causing traffic disruptions at peak hour.
An SA Power Networks spokesman said there were crews on site for the eastern suburbs outage, and they are “gradually switching customers back on” before the outages were restored.
“They work along sections of the feeder to find the cause and restore the power to clear sections as they go,” the spokesman said.
