Popular Adelaide restaurants to close to pay tribute to their ‘beautiful angel’ Angela Papas
Three leading Adelaide restaurants are set to shut for a day of mourning this week for popular hospitality identity Angela Papas who has died after a battle with cancer.

Three popular restaurants will close their doors on Thursday to pay tribute to their 33-year-old “shining star” manager.
Restaurants Louca’s, Diaspora Kouzina and HNLY will shut their doors out of respect for their “dear Angela” Papas, who held instrumental roles at each of the establishments, on Thursday, the day of her funeral.
Ms Papas was a director of HNLY, hospitality manager at Diaspora Kousina and restaurant manager at Louca’s Seafood Restaurant.
The Henley Beach Mediterranean restaurant HNLY shared a message on Instagram to honour Ms Papas following her death on April 7.
“We are deeply saddened and devastated by the passing of Angela Papas,” the post said.
“For those of you who knew Angela she was the shining star of Louca’s, Diaspora Kouzina and HNLY.
“As a mark of respect all three establishments will be closed for the entire day on 20th of April.”
Restaurateur and proprietor of George’s on Waymouth and director of HNLY, George Kasimatis, honoured the “beautiful angel” on social media on the date of her death.
“Devastated! We lost our dear Angela today,” Mr Kasimatis said on Instagram.
Mr Kasimatis praised her work for his restaurants.
“You fought so hard and you gave so much to all the businesses and those close to you, always there and never complained,” he said.
“To work by your side and witness the drive, ambition and conviction you had was so inspiring and saw first hand how it gave you inspiration and purpose in life.
“Fly high our beautiful angel, we will miss you so much, will never be the same. RIP Angela.”
A post to Ms Papas’ Instagram account shared the news of her death.
“Sadly Angela’s battle has come to an end,” it reads.
It went on to invite her loved ones to remember her at the April 20 funeral.
“With this brings a time for us to celebrate and remember her life and what it meant,” the post says.
“Angela’s made an impact on us all and we would love for you all to join us in sharing this occasion.”
A previous post from more than six months ago on Ms Papas’ Instagram account indicated she was living with terminal cancer.
“I’m still alive and living my best life.”
