A HUMPTY Dumpty (costume) has been ‘kidnapped’ from a popular city location, sparking a full-scale search effort involving SA Police, all the king’s horses and all the king’s men.
The egg-like character was stolen from the Adelaide Convention Centre, on North Tce, sometimes between Fry-day night and the early hours of Saturday.
There are no reports of ransom demands.
Police warn the person or people responsible that their crime is no yolk and are urging them to return it before its distressed owners have to shell out for a replacement.
Humpty is described as being egg-like in shape with dark hair, dark eyes and a permanent smile.
He was last seen wearing a white and green shirt with a red bow-tie and white pants with red polka dots.
Humpty enjoys sitting on walls.
Concerns are held for his welfare because he is prone to falling.
A police spokesman said authorities hope to crack the case quickly and have brought in reinforcements to assist with the recovery operation.
“Eastern Adelaide police along with all the kings horses and all the kings men, plus Big Ted and Jemima are scrambling together to try and crack the case before the rocket clock ticks too far,” he said.
“Anyone with information about the theft or the location of Humpty, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 we will be egg-stremely grateful.”
