Police are investigating two separate car fires that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 12.30am emergency services were called to Mawson Circuit at Woodcroft after reports of a Holden Captiva on fire in a driveway.

The car was fully alight when fire fighters arrived. They extinguished the blaze while police knocked on doors around the area.

Police believe the fire may have been deliberately lit as witnesses report seeing a figure running from the area a short time after the fire started.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Later in the morning at 5.30am emergency services arrived at Jo Gapper Park on Blackburn Rd at Hillbank to find a stolen car on fire.

The car was parked next to a toilet block but fortunately the wind and fire crews prevented the fire spreading.

Checks revealed the Kia Carnival and keys had been stolen overnight from a Salisbury address.

Crime scene investigators will attend the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
