A MAN has attempted to lure a schoolgirl from Reynella East College by claiming her parents asked him to collect her.
The Year 6 student was walking along the perimeter of the school on Malbeck Drv when she was approached by a man, about 8.30am on Monday.
The man said to the girl: “Your mum told me to pick you up at 1.30pm”, to which she replied: “My parents are dead”.
The man then crossed the road and drove off in a dark green old model Ford sedan and headed south along Malbeck Drv.
“This is a timely reminder to regularly talk to your children about ‘stranger danger’,” Reynella East College principal Caroline Green wrote in a Facebook post on the school page.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and have advised people to immediately contact them about suspicious behaviour around schools.
“Take note of any information that may assist with the investigation such as descriptions of people involved and details of any cars,” a police spokeswoman said.
