Police intercept car carrying more than 300 litres of alcohol, suspected of being taken to the APY Lands
Police pulled over a car and found a large amount of alcohol, including 300 litres of boxed wine. They suspect it was being illegally taken to the APY Lands.

More than 300 litres of alcohol in a single vehicle was intercepted by police last month, suspected of being illegally transported into the APY Lands.
Police on the Stuart Highway, at Port Augusta West stopped a vehicle with an obscured number plate on December 19.
The car was searched and a large quantity of alcohol was uncovered, including:
– 295L (59 boxes) of cask wine
– 32 one litre bottles of Bundy rum
– Three 10 packs of vodka Cruisers
– One bottle of Jack Daniels
– One bottle of Baron Rum
– Eight bottles of vodka
– Three VB longnecks
– Two bottles of Jim Beam
– Two bottles of tequila
– One bottle of Fireball
Police suspect the alcohol was being illegally transported into the APY Lands within South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The alcohol was seized by police.
Three men in the vehicle, aged 21, 37 and 37, all from the NT, were reported for trafficking alcohol on January 28. They will appear in court at a later date.
