Police have busted a meth lab at Elizabeth Park and weapons at Port Pirie South

Police have been busy busting a meth lab in Adelaide’s north and charging a man with weapons offences in the Upper Spencer Gulf.

A man has been arrested and charged with drug offences after police allegedly discovered a clandestine meth lab at his northern-suburbs home on Thursday.

Serious and Organised Crime Branch were called to an address at Elizabeth Park just before 12 noon, and allege that they located equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine.

A 36-year-old man from Elizabeth Park was arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled drug and possessing prescribed equipment.

He has been bailed to attend the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a 57-year-old Port Pirie man has been arrested and charged with weapons offences after police allegedly found a number of prohibited firearms at the man’s home on Thursday.

At 9.30am, police said they attended Port Pirie South South home and conducted a search, where officers located a sawn-off shotgun, together with a number of shotgun rounds in a bag.

The man was arrested and has been charged with possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence, and possession of prohibited weapons.

He will appear before the Port Pirie Magistrates Court today.
