A 21-year-old man is being treated for serious injuries after he was hit by a car at West Lakes on Saturday night. Meanwhile, police are still searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run.

A young man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a car at West Lakes on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to Frederick Rd at 6pm following reports a man, 21, had been struck by a car.

The Seaton man was taken to hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.

A man, 77, who was driving the car, was also taken to hospital as a precaution, with his car being towed from the scene.

Police search for Alberton hit-and-run driver

Police are investigating a hit-and-run at Alberton after a 90-year-old man was struck by a car.

On Friday at 2.15pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Port Road and St Georges Place after an elderly man riding a mobility scooter was hit by a car.

The driver of the car had failed to stop and provide assistance to the man and instead left the scene prior to the arrival of ambulances.

The vehicle’s make is unknown; it is blue in colour and was last seen travelling on Port Road towards the city.

The 90-year-old man from Queenstown was assisted by members of the public, as well as SA Ambulance before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said his injuries are “not considered life threatening at this time”.
