Police investigate serious crash at Clements Gap as police seek witnesses in North Adelaide crash

Five people have been injured including two children and a baby in a serious crash in the state’s Mid North. It comes as police seek witnesses to a separate crash.

Two children and an infant were flown to hospital while two other adults were seriously hurt in a horrific crash in the state’s Mid North.

A Honda sedan and Mitsubishi SUV crashed head-on about 4.30pm Thursday on the Spencer Highway at Clements Gap.

The driver and sole occupant of the Honda, a Port Pirie woman, 38, was taken to the local hospital with serious injuries and the Mitsubishi driver, a Kadina woman, 27, was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.

Three children in the Mitsubishi, a boy, 4, a girl, 3 and a baby boy, 1, were all flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.

Major crash detectives went to the scene to examine the circumstances that led to the smash.

The Spencer Highway was closed in both directions for several hours but has since reopened.

It comes as police seek witnesses on a crash that left a passenger in hospital in North Adelaide last week.

The car crashed into a kerb and Stobie pole before coming to a rest about 100m from the point of impact on Jeffcott St about 2.15am Saturday, July 9.

The driver and passenger were in the vehicle when police arrived at the scene and the passenger, a Parafield Gardens man, 30, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, a Croydon Park man, 31, was arrested and charged with driving without due care, driving under the influence, failing to truthfully answer, failing to submit a breath test and possessing a prescription drug.
