Peter Andrew Scott to face District Court trial on charges of causing death of mate by dangerous driving

AN ALLEGEDLY disqualified driver has denied his dangerous driving caused a crash which killed a mate in Adelaide’s north.

Peter Andrew Scott today faced Adelaide Magistrates Court over the fatal two-car collision on the corner of Waterloo Corner and Heaslip roads on September 29, 2015.

His passenger, 20-year old Alex Siciliano, died in the crash and the driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Scott, 27, today pleaded not guilty to charges of causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated driving without due care, driving disqualified and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Prosecutors allege his driving was “culpably negligent” and that his actions had caused the fatal smash.

The court has previously heard that a witness saw Scott’s black Jeep veer on to the wrong side of the road and collide with a silver Ford Falcon.

Mr Siciliano was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred and died at the scene.

Prosecutors have claimed Scott asked a witness to remove “drugs from his vehicle and then drive him away from the scene”.

Scott was last year refused bail but was released on home detention after seeking a review in the Supreme Court.

Magistrate Bob Harrap allowed Scott to change his bail address to a Kapunda home and remanded him to face the District Court for trial.
