Man struck by car in Bowden with the vehicle allegedly leaving the scene

A 50-year-old pedestrian is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in an alleged hit-run near the city on Monday night.

A man has sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car at Bowden.

Emergency services were called to Hawker St just before 8pm on Monday night.

The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man from Bowden, is still in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.

The vehicle allegedly left the scene prior to police arriving.

Hawker St was closed between Drayton St and Gibson St but has since reopened.

Major Crash Investigators were called to the scene.
