AN elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a light truck in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.
Emergency services were called to the accident, which happened at the intersection of Portrush and Greenhill roads at Linden Park just before midday on Thursday.
The Beaumont man, 93, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly died a short time ago.
Major Crash is now investigating.
South-bound lanes on Portrush Rd have been reopened.
His death takes the state’s road toll to 81 as compared with 70 for the same time last year.
Meanwhile, police are investigating whether a medical episode led to a man’s death following a crash at nearby Norwood this morning.
Emergency services were called to The Parade, near the intersection of Osmond Tce, just before 8.30am after a car collided with parked cars.
