A man has died after he was hit by a truck at Ingham’s chicken factory at Burton.

A man has been killed in a tragic workplace accident at Ingham’s chicken factory at Burton, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, after a truck hit the employee.

Paramedics and police were called to the Burton Rd complex about 8.20am on Monday.

The 53-year-old Munno Para West man died at the scene.

The incident occurred inside the factory site and SafeWork SA has been alerted.

The driver of the truck has been taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances and they will prepare a report for the State Coroner.

A SafeWork SA spokeswoman said the organisation had been notified of “an incident that occurred this morning at Burton where a male worker was seriously injured after being struck by a truck”.
