A MAN and a woman have been arrested for allegedly impersonating police with fake flashing lights to get through traffic because they were late for an appointment — but their problems just got worse.

A MAN and a woman have been arrested for allegedly impersonating police with fake flashing lights to get through traffic because they were late for an appointment.
But that was just the start of their problems after a police search allegedly uncovered a samurai sword, loaded air rifle, stolen tools, drugs and cash in their car at Enfield.
A motorist alerted police to a blue Kia sedan driving through traffic and displaying red and blue flashing lights on the windscreen.
Police said they stopped a man and woman in the car on Main North Rd, about 1.30pm on Thursday, and were told the lights were being used because they were late for an appointment.
A search of the car allegedly uncovered a samurai sword and loaded air rifle in the boot, stolen power tools, cannabis and 15g of white powder believed to be heroin or cocaine.
It will be further alleged $5000 cash was found in the woman’s purse.
An Angle Vale man, 32, and Elizabeth Vale woman, 30, were each charged with impersonating police, carrying an offensive weapon and aggravated possession of a firearm without a licence.
They were each further charged with possession of an unsecured firearm, trafficking a controlled drug and unlawful possession.
The pair was refused bail and will appear in court on Friday.
