There can be no greater tribute to the late Vilmos “Vili” Milisits than his meat pies being named the state’s best.
A year after the death of our legendary pie king, Advertiser readers have voted the pies from Cafe de Vili’s SA’s favourite.
Vili’s grandson, Josh Milisits, said the food icon would have been thrilled by the news.
“He was all about putting out a quality product over anything else, so I think that would have made very proud,” said Mr Milisits, 28, who has worked in the business for a decade.
Vili died last year on March 26, aged 72, due to complications following a lung transplant.
Mr Milisits said there was still a “void” in the family and the business, but the team was always working to honour his enduring legacy.
“Everything remains the same and we haven't changed a thing.
