A 27-year-old man has been charged with rape, after a young teenage girl was assaulted in the northern suburbs on early Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to a property at Ferryden Park about 6.30am, reports of an assault.
A spokesman for South Australia Police said a teenage girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, detectives arrested a 27-year-old Elizabeth Downs man.
Police believe the people involved are known to each other.
He was charged with rape and refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The incident is in its early stages of an ongoing investigation.
