A visit to a storage facility has turned into a nightmare for a young Urrbrae couple after their future wedding dress was lost along a busy highway on Sunday.
Lindel Cain, 29, and her partner were on their way back from a Burton storage facility when the mishap occurred.
In an online post Lindel said the wedding dress was in a box and on the back of the car.
“Stupidly, we put the box on the roof of the car and then didn’t return it,” Lindel said.
“Safe to say we lost it!”
The couple believe the brown delivery box addressed to Ms Cain fell off the car while they were driving south along Port Wakefield Rd towards the city around 9am.
Ms Cain, who is getting married next February, said while things could be worse, she was still “very stressed”.
“Obviously things could be worse but didn’t plan on losing my wedding dress (and) hadn’t budgeted for this,” she said.

Despite having no leads so far, Ms Cain said she was grateful for the support and help from the community.
While speaking with FIVEAA on Monday morning, Norwood bridal shop couture+love+madness offered to loan Ms Cain a dress for her big day if hers wasn’t found in time.
“That’s very generous,” she said.
“That’s beautiful, thank you.”
As the search continues the couple remain hopeful and have offered a $500 reward if found and returned.
