ADELAIDE’S newest hotel, the $50 million Atura Adelaide Airport Hotel, is having its finishing touches finalised in preparation for its opening on September 1.
The project created 350 jobs during construction and will have 65 ongoing roles when open.
The seven-storey, 165-guestroom hotel has walkway connections directly to the airport terminal check-in areas.
It also features the Hangar Bar & Grill, a business centre, eight flexible function and meeting spaces, on-site gym, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception plus a luggage drop-off and collection service.
It has been developed by the EVENT group whose brands include QT Hotels and Resorts, Rydges Hotels and Resorts, Atura Hotels, Thredbo Resort and Event Cinemas
EVENT director of hotels, Norman Arundel, said Adelaide is the first Australian airport to welcome the Atura Hotel brand.
Other Atura hotels are trading in Albury, Blacktown and Dandenong.
“The airport has grown substantially in recent years and passengers demand the convenience of a close hotel,” Mr Arundel said.
“Atura Adelaide Airport will provide travellers the opportunity to experience the Atura philosophy of value-driven urban design and great local hospitality.
“We’re also looking forward to welcoming the airport community of staff into the Hangar Bar and Grill to enjoy our quality food and beverage.”
The hotel on the old carpark to the terminal’s north is part of a $2 billion Adelaide Airport masterplan which includes tripling the terminal’s size by 2044 and building several multistorey office blocks.
