Mysterious red lights spotted across multiple states sparking UFO theories

Mysterious lights seen moving in sync across multiple Australian states on Monday night and in recent weeks have sparked a wave of UFO theories on social media.

Mysterious and ‘strange red lights’ observed by people across multiple states have sparked fresh speculation on social media about an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) hovering above Australian skies.

Photos were posted by people on Facebook, appearing to show three to four red lights within close distance of each other in the evening sky, with people saying they had all seen similar lights at the same time this week, and in recent weeks.

Posted to the ‘Not Grey Nomads - The Group’, On Facebook, Perth man Mark Raayen asked other members if they had seen what appeared to be a group of red lights hovering in sync above Perth on Monday night.

“Did anybody else see these last night - around 9:15pm 4 strange red lights, no sound, not flashing, not planes and not satellites,” he wrote.

“Travelling south to north-ish. Last one was playing catch up with the other 3.

“Not the best photo as the time I grabbed my phone they were going behind the clouds. “Weird as f***k going towards, over Perth.”

Mr Raayen said he was “freaked out” because there were no recorded flights on the flight scanner in the area where the lights were at the time he spotted them.

With almost 150 comments on the post since it was posted, people said they observed similar UFO lights on Monday night and in recent weeks, and that they appeared around the same time in the evening.

Jo McMahon from Port Pirie said “a lot of people” had also witnessed the same unidentified lights flying over the regional city “recently”.

Yvette Reese said the same mysterious flights “were seen in SA three nights ago”.

Belinda Duffy from WA’s Kimberley Region, said she observes the same lights “at 8:15pm every night near Fitzroy Crossing”.

On a property near Tibooburra in remote NSW, Tony Downing posted a time-lapse photo on the same thread, showing similar lights moving in the distance, “taken same time” when Mr Raayen said he saw the lights in WA.

“One photo from last night. It’s actually dark, taken with a ten second time lapse on iPhone,” he said.

“These lights went on for an hour, appearing & disappearing.”

Another WA man, Paul Ryan said he has spotted mysterious lights appearing while camping.

“Yep we see them when we are camping in the bush. Always to the west, about 8pm sometimes seems to be travelling in a circle, sometimes straight up and down,” he said.

“Speed is not commensurate with distance i.e. faster than plane and more agile.

“(I) saw them when camped out of Nullagine and again at Dalgaranga Homestead. One of the group sees them from his home in the northern suburbs. Intriguing.”

The post racked up almost 150 comments from people saying they had seen similar lights, with others also suggesting Elon Musk’s Starlink, to a group of drones following each other, or red lanterns being set alight to float in the air.
