A motorcyclist has died after a horrific head-on collision with a truck near Tailem Bend.
The crash happened on the Dukes Highway about 10.30am Sunday, with police and emergency services rushing to the scene, just outside the Tailem Bend township.
The rider, a Bordertown man, 33, died at the scene.
The semi-trailer driver did not suffer physical injuries.
The Dukes Highway was closed on Sunday afternoon while major crash investigators examined the scene, but it was expected to reopen Sunday evening.
The man’s death was the 50th life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared with 53 to the same time last year.
The crash follows a horror hit-run crash at Morphett Vale on Wednesday that left Nick Darling, 20, dead.
A silver Ford allegedly crashed into a Toyota HiLux on Flaxmill Rd. Mr Darling died at the scene.
The alleged driver, Michael Henley, 22, fled the scene, and turned himself in to Christies Beach Police Station on Friday after an appeal from police.
He was arrested and charged with manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a crash, and failing to comply with the Emergency Management Act. Henley will face court on Monday.
