Jarred Jaye, 26, remembered as an “amazing lad”

A young Whyalla man is being remembered as “an amazing lad” with a “really good heart” after he died in a motorcycle crash on Thursday morning.

A young Whyalla man is being remembered as an “amazing lad” after he was killed in a motorcycle crash days before his 27th birthday.

Jarred Jaye tragically lost his life when he lost control and crashed on Hincks Ave at about 4.20am on Thursday morning.

Friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to Mr Jaye, 26, who died at the scene.

“My beautiful brother has passed away this morning, and our hearts are completely shattered,” Mr Jaye’s sister Krystal Jaye-Holmes wrote.

“Jarrad, I love you so much and I’ll miss you. Just before your birthday too”.

Mr Jaye’s friend Shai Walton told 7News he had a “really good heart”.

“I don’t think I ever remember him saying a nasty word about anybody,” she said.

“He was always so nice … he made you feel like you belonged … we’d ditch school and go out and have fun.”

Another friend posting on social media struggled to comprehend the young man’s death.

“I’m actually so confused and lost for words,” she said.

“We had some good times in high school and I’m so sorry this happened. It’s such a shock, Rest in Paradise Jarred. You were an awesome friend to have. Always there when I needed you.”

Another person said Mr Jaye was an “amazing lad”.

“I’m shocked and shook,” they said.

“My love and thoughts are with you guys and your mum.”

Major Crash detectives are still working to determine the cause of the crash.

It comes after a fatal crash at Warnertown, near Port Pirie on Sunday.

A truck driver crashed into a tree on the Augusta Highway and the Victorian man, 61 died at the scene.

Mr Jaye’s was the 25th life lost on the state’s road’s this year, compared with 37 at the same time last year.
