A man has tragically died after a motorbike crashed into a tree near a school in the northern suburbs on Tuesday afternoon.
The collision occurred on Vindana Rd at Paralowie just after 2.30pm.
The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man from Elizabeth East, died at the scene.
The man’s death is the 77th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
Neighbours believe the motorcyclist hit a dip in the road and lost control before crashing into a tree.
A local resident said she ran outside after hearing a bang and a car horn and saw a man lying on the road.
“He was unconscious,” she said. “The bike was further down.
“We did try and check if he was breathing. He wasn’t breathing, so we called the ambulance straight away, and we had another lady giving him CPR until they came.”
She said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet when he crashed.
She said the incident had been “traumatising”.
Police said the road was closed between Moneva St and Correena Ave but it has since reopened. Major Crash officers were previously deployed to the area.
The crash came hours after another fatal crash at the Duke Highway in the state’s southeast after reports of a collision between a car and cyclist.
