The mother behind a viral video showing her threatening to “slit” a 12-year-old student’s throat at a Gilles Plains school earlier this month has lost her job and will face court for assault.
The alleged incident occurred at St Paul’s College, a private Catholic school on February 3, and was captured on camera by a person standing in the back of the classroom, and appeared to show the woman confronting two students in defence of her daughter.
“You ever f****** mess with my daughter again I’ll slit your f****** throat,” she can be heard yelling.
“You want to f****** go bitch? You want to f****** go? You ever f****** talk to my daughter again.
“I’m your f****** nightmare bitch … I’ll slit your f****** throat. I’ll be waiting for you.”
As the woman threatens the student, a man standing behind her, identified as her husband, can be seen ushering her out of the room as shocked students look on, but not before the woman directs another threat at another student.
“And that smart little f*** over there, yeah, you know you’re just jealous because you’re a **** ****,” she yelled.
The woman is also said to have lost her job as a result of the alleged incident, according to 7News.
Police will allege that the woman entered a classroom and verbally threatened a teenage girl.
Following the incident, the woman spoke anonymously to 7News, revealing that she was 20-weeks pregnant, also admitting that her behaviour was not ideal.
She claimed that her daughter was being relentlessly bullied and that she had no choice but to confront the students, as her daughter’s mental health was deteriorating, and that the school was not addressing the issue.
“(The bullying) has been going on for more than 12 months”, she told 7News.
“I did everything in my power as a parent and so did my husband to make sure our daughter was safe, especially dropping her off at school.
“The school has been negligent on their behalf, they have not done what they said (they’d) do. They have ignored all aspects about what we stated about the bullying with our daughter.
“I don’t want my daughter to be another statistic. I don’t want to have to bury my child.”
The video received worldwide attention, with overwhelming support from parents who are also frustrated with the epidemic of bullying and resulting suicides in schools.
The Advertiser has approached St Paul’s College for comment.
The woman will appear in the Adelaide Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
